Instrument Cables Made in America!

Hand made in Indiana by Cables For Less employees...

If you need an electric guitar cable, we build and test each of these guitar cables at our shop located in Indiana. These are proudly made in America by Cables For Less employees who truly appreciate your business! Our Custom Guitar Cables are built with the highest quality materials and expertly handcrafted to meet your needs. The exceptional attributes of Canare™ GS6 cable paired with Neutrik™ connectors make our custom instrument cables some of the highest quality available on the market.

The use of oxygen-free copper throughout decreases microphonic handling noise, especially during live performances, where amplifiers are often set to higher volumes. They are also designed to stay flexible in subzero temperatures. The thick PVC jacket gives Canare cable the ability to retain its shape better than most after coiling and uncoiling many times. We offer a variety of PVC jacket colors, always keeping black, red, and blue stocked (other colors can be ordered, which may increase the shipping times). To add some extra strength, protection, and flair, we can cover your custom cables with a nylon mesh, if desired. See the drop-down menus in the Cable Calculator to view your options.

We would only pair the Canare cable with a connector that complements it, which is why we use the Neturik NP2C. Like Canare, they are specially crafted to produce sounds from a flat response up to 50kHz, a frequency well above the range of human hearing. The sound quality is virtually devoid of cracking, humming, buzzing, and general interference perfect for connecting your instrument to a pedalboard. The solder joints are crafted in a very precise manner which makes them incredibly durable; able to withstand a great deal of severe flexing while retaining sound quality and functionality after many uses. As this location is where damage is most likely to occur, we ascertain special attention to that area. We offer Neutrik NP2C connectors in straight and 90 degree angles.

Use the Cable Calculator link to begin customizing your guitar and high quality instrument cables. Choose your length, connector type for each side, and color. If you find you need any sort of assistance, our knowledgeable staff is more than happy to help create the right custom cable for you to connect your acoustic guitar to the perfect guitar cord!

About Canare GS-6 Cable

Starting in the very center, the extra thick 18 AWG center conductor is composed of oxygen-free copper. This provides users with a substantially decreased chance of power loss on all hot musical instrument signals, solder joints that are resistant to corrosion and nicking, and improved frequency response due to the lack of impurities. The polyethylene dielectric insulation aids in creating excellent frequency response signals through low capacitance and low series resistance. The inner shield mechanism, composed of conductive polyvinyl carbon, helps to decrease microphonic handling noise, especially from high-gain stage amplification during live performances wherein amplifiers are often set to much higher volumes.

The unique outer shield, the final layer before the jacket, is composed of yet another layer of tightly braided, oxygen-free copper strands. Which, like the center conductor, aids in improved frequency response flat to the 50kHz range. It also serves as an additional layer of protection which is capable of withstanding damage from severe flexing and frequent rigorous use. The outer shield also works in conjunction with the PVC jacket to retain cable flexibility even in subzero temperatures. Because of the strength of the outer shield, the amount of wear and tear the solder joints will incur through regular use is decreased.

Finally, all of this is contained within a durable yet malleable PVC jacket, designed to stay flexible even at subzero temperatures. The jacket is resistant to tears and cracks, and efficiently protects all the layers within.

About Neutrik NP2X Connectors

1/4" professional phone plug, 2 pole, nickel contacts, nickel shell

The heavy duty professional phone plug series improves on the design of the existing C series by offering the thinnest available A-gauge 1/4" plug with unique Neutrik chuck type strain relief on the market. The slimline shell with a width of 14.5 mm meets the most recent requirements for highest density jackfields (15.88mm jack pitch).

The precise machined one-piece tip contact without rivets makes it unique and avoids hook up in a socket or break off the tip. The Plug X Series serves all applications such as guitar applications, audio cables, snakes, speakers, amplifiers and mixing desks.

More about Canare GS-6

A specially designed Oxygen Free Copper 18 AWG cable for connecting Guitar/Bass or Keyboards to amps, mixers, effects pedals and all outboard signal processing gear. Low capacitance and low series resistance provides improved frequency response (flat to 50kHz). A bright, ringing characteristic sound is preserved, even when using HI-Z guitar pickups with long cable runs. The proprietary double Carbon/Braid Copper shield construction eliminates microphonic handling noise, especially on stage where amps are often set at maximum volume levels. Also highly recommended for Amp Head to Speaker Cabinet leads.

    Superb Quality

Posted by Brian Keller on Feb 11th 2021

Bought a couple of these awhile back - solid, better than anything off the rack and after opening it up to take a peek, whoever soldered them is certainly better than I am with an iron.

    Top Notch

Posted by 84 Stratman on May 22nd 2020

I needed an 8 foot guitar cable. (Go ahead...do your own Google search for that!). These guys special cut a 10 footer down to 8, with their snazzy cloth wrapping and rugged jacks. Couldn’t be happier.
