Orange Shielded CAT6 Cable Bulk, Solid 1,000 ft. On Spool

Color: Orange
Category: Cat6
Length: 1,000 foot
Manufacturer SKU: 062-507/S/OR

F/UTP or Foiled Unshielded Twisted Pair CAT6 cable is probably more cable than the average home user needs but in the workplace it may be the ideal (or even the only) solution available. The foil shielding protects your data as it travels through the four twisted pairs of 23 gauge solid copper wires by wrapping it in a thin metal sleeve thus keeping electrical interference from things like fluorescent lights and electrical lines found in a drop ceiling or inside walls at a minimum. Cables For Less CAT6 Shielded Cable comes in a variety of colors.

This is a 1,000 foot roll of shielded CAT6 cable that comes on a WOODEN SPOOL providing you with of high quality, shielded, 4-pair, solid, 550 MHz Cat6 Cable, ready for termination and routing. Simply spool off the length required for your installation and terminate at your leisure. These spools are a great aid in large scale network installations and other long distance cable runs. And like all of our bulk networking CAT5 or CAT6 Cables, these are constructed with only high-quality components that can be counted on for high performance! So let us help you make the connections you need, and help us save the world... from high priced cables.

F/UTP cable, short for foiled unshielded twisted pair, is typically used to reduce electrical interference. Because most cable that is ran through a building is not crossing over fluorescent lights or draped over electrical wires the shielded cable is not commonly used and the plenum version of this cable which is intended to be used in plenum spaces (areas such as heating ducts etc. which allow fire and smoke to travel quickly) can be quite expensive since it is coated with a jacket that reduces the levels of toxicity in the smoke and is less common.
Of course check with the proper agencies as well as consulting your county, city, state or federal guidelines before assuming anything in regard to what cable is the right cable for your application.

While terminating Category 6 twisted pair cables be sure the natural twist of each pair is carried through as close as practical to the point of mechanical termination. TIA/EIA 568-B.2 requires no more than 0.5 inch (13mm) untwisted for Category 5E as it will effect performance at high bit rates. Cabling should be secured and placed in a manner which prevents kinking and tight cinching. Do not excessively bend the cable greater than four times the cable diameter. Cabling should not be subject to greater than 25 pounds of pulling tension (110N).

For snag resistant operation this spool should be handled properly, pull the cable while the spool is secured on an adequate cable caddie or other dispenser in the upright position only. For ideal conditions this cable must be stored at or above 32 degrees fahrenheit 48 hours prior to installation.
