This White CMP Solid Copper Cat6 Cable, 35', is one Ethernet network cable in our line of handmade Cat6 Plenum products. Unlike Riser cables and other non Plenum patch cables which may be made using materials such as normal PVC cable which can be harmful in the event of a fire, our Plenum rated cables have Plenum rated jackets which makes them much safer for use in plenum spaces such as ventilation systems since they will not circulate harmful smoke throughout a building if they were to get caught in a fire. It is important to remember that a Cat 6 Riser rated cable (sometimes marketed as cable Risers) conforms to looser guidelines and therefore are not sufficient replacements for a Plenum Cat6 Ethernet cable.
It is also worth noting that, unless otherwise stated, most of our Communications Plenum (CMP) Cat6 cables are built with Unshielded Twisted Pair cable (UTP Cable). While a Category 6 shielded cable reduces the effect of crosstalk and other electromagnetic interferences (EMI), this is generally unneeded in Plenum areas. With that being said, we do offer 1000ft Cat6 Plenum STP cable spools here if you decide it is the right cable type for completing your network. While our lines of Cat6 cables easily exceed the speeds of any Cat5e cable, some professionals require even greater speeds. In these cases, we would instead recommend our bulk Cat6a Ethernet cabling which can be viewed here.
