* Pop * goes the cable!

Shielded guitar cable custom made using Canare cable and NP2x-AU-SILENT plugs! Tired of the dreaded loud guitar pop you get when you plug a hot lead into your electric guitar? Thankfully there is a solution, the Neutrik silentPLUG silent guitar cable!

The silentPLUG automatically mutes (shorts) of instrument cables (guitar) to avoid pops and squeals when changing the instrument (guitar) under load. The integrated silent switch is based on REED-technology and guarantees a lifetime beyond 10 '000 mating cycles. The new PX silentPLUG features a rugged metal shell enhanced with a rubber cushion overlay for improved shock protection.

About Canare GS-6 Shielded Guitar Cable

Starting in the very center, the extra thick 18 AWG center conductor is composed of oxygen-free copper. This provides users with a substantially decreased chance of power loss on all hot musical instrument signals, solder joints that are resistant to corrosion and nicking, and improved frequency response due to the lack of impurities. The polyethylene dielectric insulation aids in creating excellent frequency response signals through low capacitance and low series resistance. The inner shield mechanism, composed of conductive polyvinyl carbon, helps to decrease microphonic handling noise, especially from high-gain stage amplification during live performances wherein amplifiers are often set to much higher volumes.

The unique outer shield, the final layer before the jacket, is composed of yet another layer of tightly braided, oxygen-free copper strands. Which, like the center conductor, aids in improved frequency response flat to the 50kHz range. It also serves as an additional layer of protection which is capable of withstanding damage from severe flexing and frequent rigorous use. The outer shield also works in conjunction with the PVC jacket to retain cable flexibility even in subzero temperatures. Because of the strength of the outer shield, the amount of wear and tear the solder joints will incur through regular use is decreased.

Finally, all of this is contained within a durable yet malleable PVC jacket, designed to stay flexible even at subzero temperatures. The jacket is resistant to tears and cracks, and efficiently protects all the layers within.

More about Canare GS-6

A specially designed Oxygen Free Copper 18 AWG cable for connecting Guitar/Bass or Keyboards to amps, mixers, effects pedals and all outboard signal processing gear. Low capacitance and low series resistance provides improved frequency response (flat to 50kHz). A bright, ringing characteristic sound is preserved, even when using HI-Z guitar pickups with long cable runs. The proprietary double Carbon/Braid Copper shield construction eliminates microphonic handling noise, especially on stage where amps are often set at maximum volume levels. Also highly recommended for Amp Head to Speaker Cabinet leads.

    Best Cable out there!

Posted by Marc Nadeau on Jun 2nd 2024

I have been purchasing this configuration of cable from "Cables for Less" for more than 5 years, they are exceptional! The braided material helps prevent kinking and the Neutrik ends are fabulous for plugging and unplugging on stage without noise or feedback. I think have purchased maybe 10 cables of this configuration already! You can't go wrong!

At first I was hesitant to spend almost $50.00 for a one foot cable. However, the quality is superb and the customer service was great. No regrets. Thanks, Mark

What a fabulous little gem of handmade precision! Customer service and turnaround (even during inventory no less) was great and though this little cable was pricey, the old maxim is true - "When you buy qualify, you only cry once." Thanks!

    Superb Quality

Bought a couple of these awhile back - solid, better than anything off the rack and after opening it up to take a peek, whoever soldered them is certainly better than I am with an iron.

    Top Notch

I needed an 8 foot guitar cable. (Go ahead...do your own Google search for that!). These guys special cut a 10 footer down to 8, with their snazzy cloth wrapping and rugged jacks. Couldn’t be happier.
